Coming soon for macOS. The editor drawn below is an illustration; real frames from the app are in the next section.
Drawing of the Pannly editor in dark mode. The preview shows a finished video: a travel booking app on a warm orange and rose background, with soft corners, a shadow, a round camera bubble and a caption. Below it, a timeline with four orange zoom marks. At the side, simple choices for style, zoom, background and speech. Not a screenshot.
Drawing of a vertical video from Pannly: a travel app with soft corners, a round camera bubble and the caption "Pick a stay you like."
What already works
Real frames from the real app.
Pannly is a working prototype. Every image in this section is a frame from the app itself, recorded from our own demo content.
Record screen, window or area
With your microphone and system sound, and a live mic waveform so you can see it hears you.
Automatic zoom and a smooth cursor
The camera eases in where you click and out again. Your cursor glides instead of jittering.
A background that looks designed
Rounded corners, a soft shadow and a backdrop, rendered on the GPU with Metal.
Export MP4 and GIF
At your Mac's native Retina resolution, so text stays sharp.
A steady voice
Loudness-normalised, so quiet and loud takes sound alike.
Three styles, one click apart.
The same recording, placed three ways. Swipe or scroll sideways.
-
Clean. A warm backdrop, rounded corners and a soft shadow. -
Bold. A dark backdrop and generous corners. -
Minimal. A white page and just a shadow.
Auto zoom
The zoom follows your click.
No keyframes, no timeline work. The app finds your clicks and zooms in on them, then eases back out.
-
Before the click. The whole window, the cursor on its way. -
Easing in. A soft ring marks the click and the camera starts to move. -
Zoomed on the click. The text fills the frame and stays sharp.
Not built yet.

Edit by text, on your Mac
Take out ums and cut the video by deleting words in its transcript. Planned to run on your Mac, with no cloud.

Your own AI agent
Planned: connect your own agent through the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to edit a project, with every change visible.
Before and after
What you recorded. What you get.
On the left, a raw full-screen recording: small text, a shaky pointer, your whole desktop. On the right, how the same take is designed to look with Pannly: zoom, background, caption and camera bubble added.
Drawing of a raw full-screen recording. The whole cluttered desktop is visible, including a reminder banner, a notes window and loose files. The app text is tiny and the pointer wobbles.
Drawing of the same take as Pannly is designed to produce it. The app window sits on a warm orange background with soft corners and a shadow. The view is zoomed in on the booking card with the calendar open, a camera bubble sits in the corner and the caption reads "Then choose your dates."
Drag to compare. Both sides are drawings of the same take. Real recordings will replace them.

Auto zoom for screen recordings
It zooms where you click.
Drawing of a finished video, in three steps. First, an orange viewfinder shows where the view will go, then the pointer clicks the Casa do Miradouro stay and the frame moves in close. Next the view glides along as the pointer opens the check-out date, picks 18 May and presses Reserve, which changes to Reserved. Finally the view moves back out to show the whole app on a teal background.
- Click, and it leans in. The view moves toward what you clicked.
- Move, and it follows. The view glides with your pointer. No jerks.
- Pause, and it steps back. When you stop, the whole screen comes back.
Illustration of the planned productChoose Off, Subtle, Normal or Strong. Change any zoom after you record.
Backgrounds and styles
Put your work somewhere beautiful.
Every recording lands on a background, with soft corners and a real shadow. Try one.
Five backgrounds to start with.

Clean up speech
Take out the ums and pauses.
Pannly writes down what you said, on your Mac. Press Clean up speech once. The ums and other filler words come out, long pauses shrink and the video closes the gaps. Every change has its own Undo.
Drawing of a transcript of the narration. Five filler words, such as "um" and "uh", are highlighted in orange and two long pauses are marked. When Clean up speech is pressed, the fillers disappear, the text reads cleanly, the clips on the timeline slide together and the length drops.
Illustration of the planned productThe first time, Pannly asks before it downloads the speech model. After that it works offline. Planned for seven languages.
Bring your own agent
Ask your agent. Review every change.
Pannly is designed to run a small Model Context Protocol (MCP) server on your Mac, so the AI agent you already use can edit your videos. Tell it what to change. Pannly lists each edit with its own Undo.
Drawing of an example session. In a terminal, you ask your agent: tighten the Lisbon demo, drop the ums, cut the first four seconds and zoom in on the Reserve button. The agent then calls four Pannly tools: get transcript, remove fillers, cut ranges and add zoom. Next to it, the Pannly editor lists the three changes under "Agent activity", marks the changed words, shows a new zoom on the timeline, and offers Undo on the newest change.
Example session. Designed to work with agents that support the Model Context Protocol (MCP). What your agent reads stays with the agent and its provider.
Private screen recording, by design.
Pannly is designed never to upload your screen, your voice or your words.
There is no cloud AI. A model on your Mac writes down your speech, and after a one-time download, the speech part works offline. There are no tokens to buy. If you connect your own AI agent, what that agent reads is handled by the agent and its provider, under their terms.
The Pannly app goes online for three things only.
- Checking your licenseTo confirm the license key you bought.
- Looking for updatesSo fixes and new versions reach you.
- Downloading the speech modelOnce, after you say yes, from one fixed address.
- Optional: usage statistics and crash reportsOff unless you turn them on.
The details, handled.
-
A pointer that glides.
A smooth cursor, even when your hand shakes. Your video doesn't.
-
Clicks you can see.
A soft ring marks every click, so nobody misses one.
-
Captions, written on your Mac.
They come from the same on-device transcript. One switch turns them on.
-
Vertical, from the same take.
Export for social and the tall frame follows your pointer.
-
You, in a corner.
Turn on the camera and a round bubble joins your recording.
-
Planned in seven languages.
The app, the transcripts and the captions. English first, six more planned.

Buy it once.
Every Pannly 1 update included. No subscription. Price to be announced.
Drawing of two pointer paths between the same two points. The shaky grey one is how your hand moved. The smooth orange curve is how the pointer moves in your video. Legend: "Your hand", "In your video".
Drawing of a large Reserve button. The pointer clicks the middle of it and a soft orange ring spreads out from the click.
Drawing of a recorded window with a caption bar at the bottom. The words light up one by one as they are spoken: "Then choose your dates and hit Reserve."
Drawing of a wide recording, faded, with a tall phone-shaped frame on top. The tall frame shows the zoomed booking card and a caption, and slides along with the pointer.
Drawing of a recorded window on an orange background, with a round camera bubble showing the presenter in the lower left corner.
Drawing of a language menu listing English, Deutsch, Français, Español, Português (Brasil), 日本語 and Čeština, with a caption under it in the selected language. The translated captions are art and have not had native review.
Drawing of a Pannly license shown as a key file: Pannly for Mac, one-time license, licensed to a made-up user, every Pannly 1 update included.
All images here are illustrations of the planned product.
Questions, answered.
What is Pannly?
Pannly is a Mac screen recorder, in development. It is designed to zoom in where you click, smooth your cursor, put the recording on a background and take out the ums with one click.
Does Pannly upload my recordings?
No. Pannly is designed never to upload your screen, your voice or your words. Unless you switch on usage statistics or crash reports, the app goes online only to check your license, look for updates and, once after you say yes, download the speech model. If you connect your own AI agent, what that agent reads is handled by the agent and its provider.
Does Pannly need a subscription?
No. Pannly is planned as a one-time purchase, and every Pannly 1 update is included. A future major version, if there is one, would be a separate upgrade. The price has not been announced.
Can my AI agent edit my videos?
That is the design. Pannly is designed to run a small Model Context Protocol (MCP) server on your Mac, so an agent that supports MCP can edit your Pannly projects. Each change is listed with its own Undo.
Which Macs does Pannly need?
Planned: macOS 14 or later.
